Thalassia specializes in wilderness and wildlife media collection from remote locations throughout coastal British Columbia, including north and west Vancouver Island, the Central Coast, and Haida Gwaii. Media is often captured on and for research and conservation based projects, both above and below water.

Remote Access Equipment:

Filming in remote locations requires portable gear that can be quickly and effectively accessed from boats, canoes, packs, and Pelican cases. Thalassia has kept this foremost in mind when investing in videography equipment for remote access projects. Terrestrial filming is primarily shot using the Canon R5 with RF 100–500, 15–35, 24–105, and 100 macro lenses. A range of drones are available for aerial shots including the Helion long range FPV and the Mavic 3 Pro. Underwater options include the Aquatica AR5 (Canon R5) housing with macro, 15–35, and fisheye configurations. The Blue Robotics 6 thruster commercial grade ROV is available for shots in challenging conditions beyond diving depths.
