About the Curious Biped Primate:
I am a marine environmental professional (RPBio) with over 10 years of experience in project management, scientific diving, habitat and resource management, fisheries research, and technical writing. I have recently completed a master's degree with the Coastal Marine Ecology and Conservation lab in the School of Resource and Environmental Management at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. This site is currently being updated for the start of my new business – Thalassia Environmental.
In my free time I am typically up before sunrise packing a small arsenal of camera gear into a canoe, before heading off in search of wildlife and perfect light. Recent adventures include Haida Gwaii, and the Hakai and Broughton Archipelagos. I have traveled extensively over the past two decades; living in Kenya, the Netherlands and Australia along the way. Every time I return home I am reminded of how unique this place is – the coast of British Columbia is without doubt one of the most beautiful and wild places on earth! Its continued natural and wild state is in our hands - and we have an obligation as arguably the most intelligent species here (although sometimes it certainly doesn't appear that way) - to conserve and protect it.
